- Volunteer at Salk Institute
- Mobile Science Laboratory: Travel all over San Diego to bring biotechnology to middle school students in a 3-day curriculum recurring every other week
- SciChats@Salk: Have lunch video-chats with a group of students
- Community events

- Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar: socialize with local scientists at a local bar.
Regular/weekly commitments
- Reality Changers
- Tutoring or college prep mentor of youth from disadvantageous backgrounds
- Homework help @ public libraries
- Not currently onboarding due to COVID but still accepting applications
- There are different listings but most commitments fall somewhere in 1-6 hours a week for minimum of 6-9months for K-12 tutoring all subjects

- Barrio Logan College Institute
- After-school tutoring on any area of study
- Preuss School
- Tutor - 1-6 hours per week
- Mentor - 30-45min per week - 1 year commitment
- Jacobs Undergraduate Mentoring Program (JUMP)
- Mentor a group of UCSD 1st and 2nd year undergraduates
- Rosa Parks Tutoring Program
- Usually begin participation in the fall, run by UCSD graduate students, but you can reach out and ask if they would like any help
